Have done this on other bikes but haven’t tried on the kdx but if you do (some feel they want heavier ones for slippery conditions etc) be careful where you remove it from.

Obviously the weight will have to come from the outside (which will also remove weight where it is making most difference) & not take off the sensor magnet (can’t remember where it is on the kdx). Equally, an even amount off the flywheel’s circumference so you don’t alter balance & avoid sharp edges on you cuts for stress relief.

Best bet is to remove from an area that is not supporting further mass. This pretty much means closest to the engine. Removing too much & especially in load supporting areas will overstress the flywheel which will fail spectacularly.
