I was just wondering that since the 2002 Yamaha YZ250 has a Smooth powerband and it pulls hard off the bottom would I need to put a flywheel weight on it? Also is the 2002 YZ250 a good woods bike stock? Thanks

The '02 already has a heavier flywheel than the '01, but for offroad use a flywheel weight helps tractibility and lugability, and helps reduce stalling. The YZ 250 can be an excellent offroad mount, probably the best of the current 250 MX bikes due to it's excellent partial throttle response and running manners ,but you will want to perform some mods, such as suspension revalving, and add some offroad protection, like a case guard (don't ride in rocks without one! ) and bark busters (they will save your fingers from being broken if you hit a tree). Get some heavy duty tubes as well, because 19 inch tires are more prone to pinch flats than the taller sidewalls of 18 inchers.

Send it to MX-Tech. Not sure what the cost is. Call him. Do you actually own a 02 yz250?

No I don't own a 02 YZ250 but I am going to sell my 91 XR250R and get hopefully a 02 YZ250. Does MX-Tech have a website? Couldn't I just order softer Fork Springs of of Rocky Mountain MC on the Internet. And if it needs it a different Shock spring? Thanks Matt
