A recently acquired 1998 YZ250 came with a pair of FMF Fatty Pipes, a standard and a Torque, which I believe is the predecessor to the Gnarly. The standard fits and the Torque doesn't, I suspect because it is for a different year. The markings on the Torq are Y42 Torq 06197. The standard is marked 089Y48. The folks at FMF were unable to locate the number on the Torque model in their database.
The difference between the two is that where the header fits into the exhaust port, there is about twice as much material between the O-ring and the end of the header on the Torque as there is on the standard. Conicidentally, the mounting tabs don't align by the same amount. The standard Fatty and the stock pipe have a similar amount of material extending past the O-ring, so I assume that the Torque is for a different year.
Anybody out there have an FMF Fatty Torque with Y42 on it?
