Fmf Pipe Identity

Hey KDXers!! Anyone know how to tell if a FMF Pipe is Desert or Woods pipe? Just got a 1996 KDX200
the Purple one. Love it. Runs great and got it cheap. Lookin to ID pipe. Any help would be awesome

Is there a stamp with a set of numbers on it?

From FMF's website they have manuals for the following pipes for a 1996 KDX200.

020056 - KAW KDX200/220'95-06 GNARLY DESERT PIPE
020057 - KAW KDX200/220'95-06 GNARLY WOODS PIPE

The numbers should designate which pipe you have.

Thank you so much Ivan. Just curious the difference a Desert Pipe would make in the tight woods. Looks like I'll buy the one I dont have and find out. Thanks again

A desert pipe with the right jetting will be more for wide open stretches. If you are riding tight woods I would use the woods pipe. The KDX is a great bike in those conditions.

For the desert you probably want a CR500AF :)

Wow!!! I remember when I was younger 500cc were the best!!!! I have had a lot of open bikes. But now with Old age sneaking up and stealing my youth I am settling down with a 200. I had a 86 CR500 that I totally Pimped Out. It was I believe the fastest of the Honda 500's to date. Oh well. Now I'm dating myself
