Sorry I'm not already a moto expert. I was given two months to develop this entire script for fall '09 release. Projects are turned over on a very strict deadline, and there's no time for writers to become personal experts in medicine, or law, or FMX.
hmmm... Did it ever occur to you that some of us might actually know something about what is involved in writing, movie/television production and, well, postings like this just makes us belly laugh in glee? You've stumbled into a den of well rounded individuals my friend. You'd be advised to sit up straight, and pay attention.

That's completely unrealistic. But we know what we don't know, so we ask experts like you guys, which is certainly more than enough for a quick scene that's one minute out of one hundred.
I think Mr. XRPredator shared with you many of our feelings about wanting to help someone who is a hack about something we feel has an honorable and special history. If there is any truth to anything you've posted, because of "your requirements" you are intent on misrepresenting everything about dirtbiking- whether fmx or mx. It completely sucks.

Most people are very happy to help. And the doctors don't usually call us assclowns for trying to learn something. I actually thought the cartoon was funny, but seriously--that's an insanely dickhead move when someone asks you four simple questions.
Geez, since I know a thing or two about doctor consultants, from everything from Olympic consulants to expert witnesses for lawyers, again, if they aren't calling you an assclown it is only because they are charging you by the billable second, and flattering you to pump their fees. You are way out of your league on that. Somehow I'm thinking you aren't posting on the surgeons forum and getting a warm welcome. :rotfl:
I think you say it yourself quite well. It is an extremely dickhead move to come to people who love a sport, unwilling to learn something about it, expect us to let you present an unrealistic hack "moment" in your little drama, whether real or only a dream script in your head. Sorry for not wanting to help, but, it is really a dickhead move on your part to be so dishonorable to something we work very very hard at. If you are a writer, you are lazy. If you aren't a writer and want to be one clue: :clue: Try the work ethic. :clue:

It's a terrible advertisement for your community and your sport, and it's a miracle any newbies bother to penetrate the instant and unwarranted cloud of paranoia and defensiveness.
I think you will find the people on this forum to be exactly as you described- suspicious and slightly paranoid about people who are lazy, unwilling to work hard, ask questions that smell insincere or for their own self flattery.

I checked the profiles of the people who responded. Interestingly enough, the younger people seemed to have been cool and helpful, while the older people, um. . . .
Younger people also tend to be inexperienced and a little naive. They also all want their 15 minutes of fame, want to be rockstars, supermodels or promxers. Forgive our aging cynicism, but us jaded old farts use elbow grease and plain old fashioned hard work. And we're not afraid to tell young people that the way to make your dreams come true, is:elbow grease and hard work.

Anyway, I combined the useful feedback with other sources, and this scene is now done. If it's not something you're proud to see on the screen--well, you didn't answer the questions, did you? Thank you very much to those who helped, and peace.
I, for one, am not terribly interested in your one minute of mx or fmx.
As Mr. XRPredator says so well.... I'd rather watch the real deal. Good luck in your writing career. I hope you learn the value of hard work and sincerity. Consider us as being helpful in "keeping" your job. You may find that more helpful in the long run and thank us later.
