Today and tomorrow is the Hallet Racing Circuit Annual Gold Rush events. Saturday is the Buddy Race and Sunday will be the individual class events.
The Gold Rush is approximately 6 miles of unique racing. Each class will do a dead engine start while the rider straddles the front wheel facing the back of the bike looking at the starter. The land run start makes several turns on flat level grass track before dumping the riders onto the front straight of the Hallet Motor Racing Circuit asphalt. The bikes will fly into turn one and two of the asphalt before heading into a chicane on the dirt and back onto the asphalt setting up for turn 4 and 5. After some high speed asphalt it is INTO the woods. Coming out of the first woods section the riders will encounter a real old school moto track and then back onto the asphalt for turn 8 & 9 before taking the long woods trail back to the Start/Finish area on the east side of the facility. It is quite amazing how much traction knobby tires get on the racing surface and the grin factor is off the scales. See you there because it won't happen again for another year.
