This is just a question on compatibility. I have a mazda miata that utilizes transmission fluid for the power steering fluid. I thought that that was kind of odd but that's what the service manual calls for (Dextron ATF), and I checked the power steering , indeed it has ATF in it. I also read a bottle of power steering fluid, It states (anti wear agents, seal lubricant, and protector, antifoaming agents, etc. Just what you would want for forks I think? Now I do not know the weight of power steering fluid. I would assume that is would be somewhere in the 7 to 10 weight but I might be wrong. According to the threads hear on the forum ATF seams to be a 7 weight. So if you can use ATF for forks and you can use ATF for Power steering it seems logical that you could use power steering fluid for forks? Has anybody experimented with power steering fluid as fork fluid or am I barking up the wrong tree.
