Push the slider all the way to the top..as if the fork is fully compressed. Put just enough fork oil in to measure 5.5 inches from the top of the fork tube to the oil level. Using Dextron ATF is a cheap oil to start with. Chances are you will be close with it. Make certain as you put in oil you pump the legs a bit. Then push the fork slider up to measure the oil hieght from the top of the fork tube. (5.5 inches ) Extend the fork, replace the spring, and replace the fork cap.....give it a try.
