I have disassembled and re-assembled the front forks on my 1997 CR250. I filled up the cartridge to the recommended level befor re-installing the fork cap on to the cartridge.

Now my question is: the fork oil capacity listed in the service manual is 335 to 430 ml, does this capacity include the oil in the cartridge, or is that a seperate amount?

The total of 400 ml I used leaves a very low oil level in the outer fork tube... I think I need more oil in there but I can't find the level of oil measurement for the outer tube in my service manual.

Someone please help me!!

The 400 ccs your refering to goes in the outer tube.

The inner tube takes about 180 ccs. Put the 180 ccs in, put the inner chamber cap on then blow off the excess oil by SLOWLY pumping the damper rod.

Good luck!
