Fork oil top up

I was wondering the best way to top up the fork oil, Can I just remove the cap and filler up to the proper level?? do you remove the spring first?

Not sure what you mean by saying top up, but if you want to raise your oil level you can just add the same amount to each side with the spring in. However if you want to get your oil level accurate you need to remove your springs and bottom out your forks and measure down from the top.
