Check there is freeplay. Also & more likely I feel is the master cylinder breather is blocked. Pull the cap off being careful not to strip the cheese metal screws. Check the rubber is not ripped & clean it nicely. Check the lid & clean out the crystallized crud noting the passage way for the breather hole. Might as well change the brake fluid while you are there & pump the calliper pistons out a little & make sure they are not seized & the pins are ok. [/QUOTE]
