Is there any way to get the stock front pads to run quietly (1992 KDX200)? Both brakes were noisey. I changed to soft pads to get rid of the noise. When they wore out, I went back to the stock pads. The rear disk must have changed because it is quiet now. The front still squeels. Previously, I tried sanding the disks and pads with little success.

brakes...

When does it squeal ? If with no pressure, try looking at the hanigng pins (no divits).. then also look at going to Auto Zone and get the Permatex brake silicone and apply to piston side only....

It squeels under light to medium pressure. I don't remember if it did it under high pressure.

it sounds like your front pads have glazed over. If you take them off and they have a sort of smooth hard substance over them then it's the culprit for sure, rough them up with a little bit of coarse grit sandpaper and reinstall.
