To switch out the front fork boots can I just loosen up the bolts that hold on the fork tube on one side and leave the front wheel attached or do I need to take the whole tube off and slip on the new boots?

boots

I reciently changed the boots on my 98 Kdx200, I took both legs out with front wheel still on, saved heaps of time, mind you you have to jack the bike up a fair height to get the legs out with the wheel on. Dont forget to inspect the fork seals and clean out any dirt/dust from around the seals ;) .

One thing is for sure... the front fork boots are a lot easier to replace than the rear fork boots ;)

Second vote for the Seal Savers. Used them last year after having the forks redone. The fabric held up with only one small tear and the top of the seals stayed clean all the time.
