Front wont follow rut!

I have a 2005 YZ250 and am having trouble riding rutted corners. The front tire wants to ride up the side of the rut and will not follow it. I still have the stock front tire on but that will hit the trash soon (any suggestions on a replacement). I ride mostly hare scrambles but like to do motorcross open practices. I have comp at 16 out and reb at 8(?) out, also I raised the forks 5MM in the triple. I remember reading something about the rebound affecting riding ruts, and also the front tire being a problem, but I cant find the thread. I have no problem ridding these ruts on my old YZ or my friends CRF450 so I don't think its me. Any help is greatly appreciated!

quick question for you. How much do you weigh?

The reason I ask is that in my experience, if the rear sag is set incorrectly, or you have the wrong spring for your weight, the bike will tend to walk up berms instead of sticking them.
Of course riding position has a bunch to do with it too. . .

I weigh 220lbs, I have a Race Tech 5.4kg spring in the back and stock up front. I am reasonably sure my sag is at 100mm w/static sag at 25mm. Like I said I hopped on my buddies stock(except tires) CRF450 and had no problem riding the ruts.

often this problem is due to too sharp steering(ie too steep fork angles) you need to look at getting some preload spacer in the yz fork as it doesnt come correct from OEM, there have been a few threads on this topic. Also try lowering the forks in clamps.
