What kind of road/trail are you doing?

I do small wood trails and long gravel roads and there is a good difference.

I have a 98 KDX 220 with a FMF pipe and muffler. Doing 120KM (75 miles) on gravel and I don't think I could go past 90KM (56 Miles) in tight trails.

I hope it helps.

A large factor in the fuel consumption mix is how close your jetting is. If its blubbering rich like most KDX's its not going to get the greatest mpg.

with stock jets (which were relatively close but a bit rich at my altitude) I got about 40 miles of tight trails, fast riding on my '01 KDX200 before going to reserve.... an easy ten more on reserve....

You could boost that substantialy if you were on falt roads just cruising I would think

I rode 63 miles on a good mix of trails and fireroads and still had not hit reserve yet, But I was probably not far from it. Seemed like I had the old gas can tipped on the fill up for a LONG time. Pretty much a stock h model with an FMF Gnarly, FMF ISDE S/A and Boyesons.

My 97 220 is bone stock except for a FMF rev pipe I’m running 15/45 gearing. Most my riding is gravel or blacktop. I can go 80 to 85 mile before I hit reserve. Peak speed is 91 mph. 60 mph is the sweet spot for cruising.

NICE....... I wish I could get that good of mileage/speed outa mine... lol... but I can't give up the trail torque of the 12-47 setup.... I'm loving it!!!

So, how do your knobbies hold up at 90mph on the blacktop?..... :rotfl:

I don’t make a habit out of going 90 but at 55 it can go fairly long on a rear tire. It makes a great way of using up my old race tires. The biggest problem is if you use the rim lock it takes a lot of lead weights to balance it.
