Just bought a XR50R, stock engine. I was wondering what fuel octane I should be running in it. Have not even run a tank through it, of 83 octane. Seems to be running fine, but if I should be running premium fuel I will drain the tank and replace the gas.
I did search but did not see anything pertaining to my bike.

You should be fine with 83 octane gas in a stock XR50R. Just make sure it is fresh.

Would there be much of a difference if I ran 90 or 94 octane fuel? Would it be better or worse for the bike?

Good fresh gas, the best pump gas that your local dealer sells at the pump will be fine. Trick race gas will slow that bike down in it's stock low compression condition.

Basically any gas that doesn't ping or detonate will be fine. The lower the octane you can get away with that doesn't ping the better it will run...
