Gas dripping from carb overflow tube while running?
Oh boy. Pay close attention here. -Remove carb from the bike. You will need to unscrew the "cap" on the top of it to remove the slide. Note how the slide is positioned in the "barrel" of the carb before pulling it all the way out. Take a pic if it will help. -Turn the carb over and remove the 4 screws holding the float bowl on. -Carefully remove the boel being sure to not mess up the O-ring gasket. -Take a picture of the way everything is positioned. -See the little tiny pieces of wire wrapped around the metal tang on the float assy? This is what you are trying to remove. -Slide the little metal bar that allows the floats to pivot, it will come out of either side. -CAREFULLY slide the float assy up and away from the carb body making sure you are not bending anything. -The little piece dangling off the end will have a black rubber point on it. Closely inspect it to be sure it is not damaged in any way. -Carefully remove the other brass pieces if they are not pressed in (depends on the carb). -Clean everything with a good quality carb cleaner making sure you can see light through each little tiny passage that is straight thru. -Now put everything back together in reverse order. If it still leaks take it off and adjust the little metal tang a tiny bit. If you look at it a bit you should be able to determine that you want the tang to operate the float valve a little sooner so you bend it towards the carb body a tiny bit. If it still leaks you could have a damaged seal (the little black rubber cone). If that is the case good luck because I seriously doubt the parts are easily available. It's possible the parts from one of our Mikuni or Pei Wey carbs would fit but maybe not. If you need more help feel free to contact me at Pat "at" PitViperMX.com
