Gas Gas EC 200

i am thinking about buying a 2002 Gas Gas EC 200 .i have a few ??? to ask. i look up the specs on hp and its like about only 38hp and say a 2003 rm 125 has say 36?.. i have never road this gas gas yet.i was hoping it had power close to a 250. thx for any replies guys... is there a guide anywhere on hp? like year/make/model :ride: :ride: :ride: :ride: :ride:

I rode a 250EC once... sweet bike in the truly ugly stuff. Never rode the 200, but I heard someone say it was kinda pipey with a fairly narrow powerband... something I could live with since I spent quite a while woods riding/racing on 125s.

hmm i wonder if the bike is leaning more towards a 125 and not a 250? or in the middle..? i own a rm125 and a rm250 and there is a big difference..

The 200 is exactly in the middle for power but it has a much smoother power band than your RM. Much better in the woods but I found it not much fun on the track. I could easly keep up with a 250 in tight woods but Big hills could slow me down. If I had to choose I would pick another 200 over your 125 just because I didn't have to work it so hard and the engine takes a beating with a smile !

here is the deal with me and my son.for me i could stay in the woods all day long with the 125 which i only need to go a block and there starts trails that go for miles..on the other hand where i live there are many old coal banks .some of the bigger hills with me on the 125 are a task.its strange i have a 125 and jr has a 250.me being 35 and him being 15.we do switch off time to time tho.as for the 250 which i sold this week would laugh at any coalbank..so i was wondering will jr like this Gas Gas EC 200.when he was younger at age 10 -12 he rode those 85s everywhere woods/trails/tracks.

rm 125 / kx85/rm85/ all that is left is the 125:)and soon a 200 :)
