Hey guys, I understand that you have to rebuild the engine every so often, replace the clutch, and such......what about the transmission?, some guy that I met while trail riding told me that they are virtually bullet proof....is this true? Do I ever have to worry about replacing anything in there?

shift forks and bearings occasionally. Last year I broke forth gear on one of my bikes. While I had it apart I replaced all the crank and tranny bearings.

I usually do not, unless there is a shifting issue, or something is close to being out of spec.

Agreed. Just replace the transmission oil every couple of rides and you won't have a problem. When you do have the engine apart it's always good to check though.
