I sold my CR 500 6 years ago because I moved and started having kids. Well my oldest boy is now almost 6 and he is getting his first bike this weekend, (1994 Z50R, he has no clue) and he also has two younger brothers that are motorcycle crazy. I'm getting the itch to ride again real bad. I road my CR 500 in the mountains and desert of New Mexico mainly, and have since moved back to Nebraska. I'm very fourtunate to live on a small ranch and have a great place to ride by just walking out the back door.
My question is what bike to get, I know I don't need a 500 anymore, I'm thinking about a early 2000's CR 250 but I have been out of it so long I know nothing about the 4-strokes, other than in the 80's and 90's 4-strokes were good if you wanted to go slow. 95% of my riding will be on my own place where I'll make some trails and jumps. 5% will be on family trips to national forrest type riding. I'm 6'-3" and 240 lbs, will the 250 seem really underpowered compared to my old 500?
What bike do you think I should go with????????
