Now first off, before I got kicked off or something LOL, I am not bitter, I am just kinda perturbed. I think my posts have been polite and simply curious. I do post a lot, some of them maybe have been answered elsewhere but I do search often. If I can't find exactly what I want, I post it. After all this is a message board right. Anyway I get upset when certain people disrespect me, maybe it's because I'm a teen, or posting a lot of questions, but either way all I want is help. I think DRN is awesome, no place has taught me so much about dirtbikes and in the short time I've been coming here, I've learned so much. There is so much information and input right at your fingertips, it's like being at the shop 24/7.

Anyway, I just had a run-in where someone got upset over posting two questions. Perhaps I made a mistake but I did search and I found some things, but not exactly what I wanted. Either way, just tell me you know, and a link would be perfect instead of giving negative mojo or something. I don't mean to anger anyone here, I just want to get my information and have a good time.

Again, am I angry? Absolutely not, this is just a freaking message board but I just want people to show some patience and courtesy. I may be a relative novice to dirtbikes, but I am no novice at computers or message boards and just because I am a teen does not mean I try to treat others with respect.

Thanks just had to vent lol.

Jaypro, I have read your posts and you seem like a smart polite guy who wants to learn. Heck join in the line I think all of us here are here to help and to learn. I think it's unfair when I see someone jump all over someone for trying to gain knowledge. That's what we are here for, riders helping riders. I don't like to get into these things, so I don't know exactly what thread you are speaking of, but it's still all the same. If someone needs help I will do my best to help them, I have plenty of questions to ask, but I hope I can answer them as well, a lot of the answers I give I have learnt here from asking. It's a continuous circle of knowledge, so people please don't tie a knot in our loop. Don't let it get you down jay

As I said I'm not bitter. I just don't see the need for someone to be ignorant and on a powertrip saying that I should have searched. I mean I didn't kill anyone....yet

Sigh Rich, it didn't sound like :whiner: to me.......I mean sure, some people have desereved a rip in the whaaambulence but jaypro seemed like he needed to vent that's all. He said he wasnt bitter. It goes back to some people thinking they own this board and they can rip apart others when ever they feel like it or when others ask questions they don't feel like answering. Personally I think Okie is the only one who has the validity to say "go search it" lol

Maybe im wrong, maybe this has to go to the point of. "If you are going to post something of waste or no help to the orginal question, then why post it?"
It serves no purpose, doesn't give any benefits

Ahh well im just going on about nothing like some crazy old person :) I may be young but someone pour me a damn glass of prune juice allready

I saw the post he is referring to and no one was ripping him. He's not bitter but he's crying like a jilted schoolgirl. :silly:
This isn't the high school cafeteria and it's not an AOL chat room so stop :whiner: :whiner: :whiner: Jaypro.

Well if you saw it then you should have seen no reason for the sarcasm. All that person had to say was "Here is a link that will help you right out". Would have made things a lot easier. Like CanadianRidr said, if you're not going to help someone or your post isn't going to serve a purpose, why waste your time?

Most of your posts are a waste of time so you aren't really arguing from a particularly strong point. People are people, some are nicer than others. If you get this tweaked over something this stupid you're gonna have a hell of a time surviving day to day in real life.

OK, I'm the guilty party. (imagine that)

Jaypro, You posted asking about how to clean filters and adding you use gasoline.....need I add more? There isn't enough bandwidth to list all the posts on the subject....you said you did a search and it was quite obvious you had not, so I mentioned that if you had, you would not be asking about such stuff. (and you wouldn't)

Same time you have a thread something about "last change for jetting" now tell me you did a search on that....even without a search there was a fine thread on the topic just two frames away from yours, but apparently you only read your posts.

Yes, I got sarcastic with you on the "Fuel Injection" post....There are many threads on the subject since the last house cleaning and one in particular was up and alive for longer than you have even been here.

No doubt you are the master of BB's and AOL chatrooms.
And you aren't the first person that I've ticked off....and won't be the last. But when you say you did something and it's obvious you didn't, then prepare for what comes, hurt feelings or not.

I'm the first to offer info on anything I think will help a person out, but I'm also the first to call you on ignorance....at least I hope we are talking ignorance instead of stupidity.

I've posted stupid stuff before...and get called on it instantly, and rightly so.

Buck up young man....you'll be fine. And keep an ever vigilant eye out for my posts that fringe stupidity and call me on them immediately. Any well founded comment will be accepted graciously. :)

BTW...I looked back at your filter post and it seems that the whole thing was a fish for justification of using gasoline to clean your filter. Why else would you add that "many do it"? How do you know this? From the searches on the topic? Like I said, it seems like a fish for someone to say its fine to use gas.

I've went into detail on this becasue it seems you got your feelings hurt.
I have no apathy towards you whatsoever.
Teen anxt is hell, I was there once.

Fear not, lad. Rich acts that way when his shipment of prune juice is delayed ;)

I don't know what to make of this- Rich being mean? Poor boy being beat on? Boy being too dramatic? Posting stuff for the sake of posting? DRN searches more difficult now that we can't search anything with less than three letters (anything more than four and I need a tutor), and only one forum at a time, and only once every minute? My attention span is about nil.

One a side note.....

Rich's attitude seems to be fairly stable, and somehow I have avoided being directly thrashed by him. I suppose its just the luck of the draw considering the large membership of this board.

Anyway, I can't seem to figure out what determines my reaction to his (Rich's) posts. Fifty percent of the time I want to kick his ass, and the other half of the time I'm hunched over my computer, laughing uncontrollably and spewing coffee all over myself.

This is one of the happy times. Blow it off, Jaypro55. The knowledge that we gain from this board is too valuable to sweat the occasional smart-assed comment that you read. Enjoy what we've got here. :moon:

Yeah I learned a very valuable lesson. I will definetely put as much effort as possible now into not looking like an ass. This is just my first case of turmoil here and I kinda got angry. Oh well. Thanks for setting me straight.

Tell ya what Bro, you pay for the bandwidth and you can set-up the seaches to look for one letter in all forums if you want. What 2 letter word are you trying to search on? :moon:

Jaypro says "searches are a hassle".
Think it's more of a hassle than someone having to answer the same question 500 times? I'm sure you would rather have someone else spend their time to help you out, rather than taking a few minutes to find the answer yourself. Pretty typical attitude on BBoards; some people think their time is more valuable than other's.

I find it difficult to believe people would complain about the search routine. There are only 267,917 posts in 20+ forums for the thing to go through. Do you have any idea what the load on the box would be if you searched for the occurance of the word "at" in over 267,000 posts? How many words do you think that is? And if there are 20 -30 people searching at the same time? If you need fewer than 3 letters to search on... sorry.

Fact of the matter is, the search function works very well and returns results very quickly. If it's too much hassle for you to use, you're just out of luck. Take the verbal beating you've got coming :silly: . Some people get offended that you feel they owe you something.
