Gilmer GNCC Race Feb 12 and 13th.

Is anyone going down to Gilmer for a weekend of racing. I am still planning on spectating. As usual, I have to get the weekend off yet. I am going to try for 3 days off (HA HA Wish me Luck). I would like to sse the 4 wheelers run on the first day.

I would love to do this race, but it will be on the expensive side since we'd have to join the AMA ($40 a pop). It'll probably come down to the week before the race before I know for sure.

There is also a Cross Country race at the Diamond W in Alvarado that weekend. $2500 pro purse. This is an indoor motocross track with 500 surrounding acres.

Any idea what the TCCRA race will be like that weekend Dennis? I think I'd rather do GNCC if I was going to drive back to Dallas that weekend, which would make for at least 2 in a row since it's the week after the last TORO race.

I thought the GNCC race was the last weekend of January. That works out better. (Changed posting title).

Feb 12th and 13th is the GNCC at Gilmer. That weekend there is a race at Diamond W but it is not a TCCRA race. It's just the guy who runs the Diamond W putting on an event. He also drew a TCCRA race but it will be later in the season. The first TCCRA race is Feb 20th in Pittsburgh.

Randy,

I should be able to go to the GNCC race, may'be we can get together. May'be I can get my sidestand also. :) I haven't been towards Sherman since we last went riding.

I did not hear from you so I left the side stand in the truck thinking sooner or later I would find you riding somewhere.

We went last year to the GNCC and enjoyed the "wow, how do they do that without crashing". The pros made some of those rocky hills there look like a 4 lane freeway. That race is well worth the weekend trip. It was fairly dry and fast last year. I hope we get a little rain before the race to make it more interesting. The only water and mud I saw was in a few of the creek bottoms and it did not slow down any riders.

Well it looks like the GNCC is probably out of the question for me. My better half is requiring me to go home this weekend for her cousin's bday (I'm not going to complain too much cause I'm going to do the buddy race on Sunday), and the GNCC would be my 4th weekend in a row to travel home. With my course load I just don't think that's gonna be possible. *sigh* maybe next year.
