It's not everyday you go out and ride with some random sample of 200 friends, park your bike, and get a SNO-CONE to cool you off.

Because you are a looser if you don't go! And by the way Farmer John, I think the correct name is BOMBFIRE.

Seriously, I think watching all the kids experience freedom without having to worry sombody will snatch them up.

Last year was my first DW, and I was kind of nervous about going down there with my non-existant riding skills, but everybody makes you feel right at home. This is just a great bunch of people to spend a week with.  End of story.

Hanging out on the top of the big hill with oldguy, both of us winded after two dreadfully slow laps, watching his wind-up son scorch by (he must be adopted).

The number one reason to go is:  "The People"

I mean who doesn't want to shake Pred's hand or find out how Big "Big Lou" is?  Does TTRGuy (aka Mr.Luckey) really have a helmet shaped like a smokey the bear hat?  Does GETMOCA always have a cup of coffee in her hand?  Does Elk really look like Ponch?  How high will he jump when he sees a spider?  Does Billy (Buster) break EVERYTHING he touches?  Does Sarge have a different Hawaian shirt for drinking beer every night?  Do the hinge's on Tony's cooler really squeek loud?  Can you be the first to poke Gomer with a stick?  Is there really a kid named Stan Flemmings?  Does Zio's weight loss plan work or not?

You can find out the answers to all these questions and many more.  You just gotta meet the people.

There's the Heartland Spodes, the Michigan Mafia, Camp Tejas, Okie's entire family...the list goes on and on.

Yep, the people are what make the event worth while.  And, you do get to do a lot of riding.

One of the most fun things for me is riding at Dusk.  I love to go out for a ride when the sun is setting.  The coolest thing about it is: when you get back to the camp, you don't have to load up and go home, the real fun is just begining.

I can't wait.  See you there.  :thumb:
