Hi all,

I have a 1997 KDX 220 and it's almost time for a new rear tire. I live in Mass and ride powerlines, woods, mud etc. Any suggestions on a good all around tire?

Anything someone is really happy with in the same situation as me?

Thanks!

Chris

All these D756 riders....you know what the 952 is? Why it was developed?

If you like a 756, you will love the 952...about 4 times longer.

i use the mich m12. it is very long lasting. great on rocks, mud, sand etc. only downside is it is a little slippery on smooth surfaces...like when crossing old plywood or planks covering a swampy area.

Find out what the fast guys in New England are running.
Here's a hint: Pirelli MT16 rear and MT18 front.

Most of the other tires mentioned here are soft terrain tires. They will get shredded in New England and don't have a planted feel in the rocks. Remember that even the mud here has a rocky base. I made a big mistake running Michelin S-12's when I first moved here. My body now has several more weather indicators thanks to that mistake.

BTW - The MT18 wears pretty fast for a front tire then tends to skate around too much when worn, IMHO. I've had better luck with the MT16 front. Another decent combination in the IRC VE33 rear and VE35 front. Lately I've been running a Mitas ET-01 trials tire in the back. Best rear tire I've run up here PERIOD!
