I recently sold my 1975 Yamaha DT400 for a 1995 Yz250. I was wondering about this bike, i saw the other post but is there anything special about this year/model?

Also i have a slight clicking noise in my engine constantly. I think part of it is the pipe can wiggle a little bit but i am almost positive the niose it coming from the engine somewhere. And also when i gun my bike in 3rd - 5th gear i hear almost like a differnt clicking noise...lol..i have been riding like this now for 2 weeks and no problems yet but i am wondering if anyone has any ideas? Help will be appreciated...

it could be detonation mine when i got it was jetted for race gas so when i ran 93 octane it sounded like a bad vibration at certain rpm's so i raised the need in the carb 2 clips and presto totally runs better you can tell if its lean if it doesnt load up and if it does how little good luck

Sometimes the drum style powervalve limiting stop wears out and the powervalve will just kiss the piston. if you remove the cyl head and look down the cyl at the PV the area will be really shiny with no carbon on the spot of intereference.Id probably like to check the rings and stuff on a 95 bike anyway. good bike by the way

Cyl/Carb/Exh are specific to 95-96. Everything else is 93-95 YZ250 as far as parts...

If you can move the pipe then definitely remove it and change the sealing ring. Also make sure there are 3 springs holding the pipe on.

Actually, as mentioned just do a top end on the thing. It will allow you to learn the bike, you'll see what a powervalve is, and if it's malfunctioning, and you'll get the pipe ring that you need anyway....
