Greenville, OH 11/18 enduro

Can anyone give me information about this event? I'm going to be in Toledo over that weekend and I'm tempted to run down to the enduro on Sunday. Contact information, start times, directions, etc would be great.

I highly reccomend it.

It can get nasty there if we get much rain before though. we are already saturated here now, but it should be in good shape if we have no more significant precip by race day. there are a couple of steep hills a few swamp areas and some deep stream crossings that always draw a lot of spectators.

Treaty City is usually a survival type run. Flat ground mostly with a lot of corn fields and creek crossings. Very little road. One of the few enduros I've run where you'll see a lot of spectators. Have your bike waterproofed and have new tires.

I called a club member about the enduro last night. I've got all the info I need. Sounds like anymore rain would make this a real nasty ride.

Do any of you Ohio guys, or anyone else, know about the Swanton, OH riding area? I've heard about it but I need more details. Like where it is, type of riding, contact information, etc. My vacation plans for the 11/17 weekend are kind of hanging on it.

I've got some great trail down here near wellston, OH. I've had a lot of DRN'ers come ride, the impressions are that it's fun trail with maybe a few challenging areas. "Someone" comes down from up around the cleveland area just to ride, usually have a great time.

We're going to be in Toledo. My wife's family was born and raised there so going over for a few days over Thanksgiving. Her sister lives there and has a 200EXC. I'd like to find her a place that she can ride. How far would your riding area be from Toledo?

I am still planning to go to Greenville. I need the points to start out next season:confused: I have not heard anything good about the ride though. I was told of a run in 30 degree weather where the route went 300 yards, dropped into the creek behind the clubhouse, drowning out many bikes, then running 10 miles of road to make sure you were cold:p Tim

I can't believe you guys are badmouthing Greenville. Its an awsome race. Not too long and the sections really flow. A little mud seperates the men from the boys, and I admit its made me look like a boy before. But give it a shot, Overall last year was a 10. Think about it, most of the B riders were in the 20's and 30's. Its an adventure, just choose wisely and look around at the bad spots. Remember we ride dirt bikes not street bikes. Everyone in the Midwest should come as it's the last Enduro for the year and a real happning. C you there. :D

i agree with muddobber, it can be a real fun race. it has gotten a bad rap though from the few times that mother nature has dealt us a bad hand, that is all part of the fun of riding enduros though!

Muddobber, do you know if our buddy on the cr is going the make it?

I'm hoping to make it down. Sounds like a dry forecast for the week so the course should be in good shape. We have a race like that in MN. If it rains, it's a real tough course. Otherwise it's a ball.

I have a DRZ, will I need a gas crew? I did not plan on one. I have been told the enduro has a lot of road sections between cornfields and tree rows, is this at all accurate? I hate to put on my new tire just to roach it on the road. Tim

If this year is anything like the past years, you will welcome a 2 min ride on the road every now and then. as for gas, I dont know how far you can go on a tank but its about 70 miles or so to the finish if i remember right.

The race was totally awesome. I made some dumb timekeeping errors but I wasn't all the serious about it. Just wanted to have fun and that I did. Most fun I've had in a long time on a dirtbike. I started on minute 3 and got through all the swamps with no problems.

Does anyone know if there is a website or some other source for detailed results?

I don't know of any website for the results, guess we will have to wait for them in the mail. You are right it was a great race, good weather, not a lot of road, gotta love the flat out WFO across the corn fields. I got stuck in the long swamp section where all the spectators were. It was my first time riding in that part of Ohio, me and a friend drove down from Buffalo, NY sure glad we did. I was on minute 6 riding the 250exc I think we rode briefly in some sections together and talked for a minute at a reset. I got 2nd in the A250 but got smoked by many, had lot of fun though.
I think the club did an excellent job, course was arrowed very well, check locations were great, i never rode an enduro that posted the mileage at every major turn and road crossing,you don't even need an odometer, just a watch! it was cool. They make the most out of every wood lot between the corn fields and the trail is great.

I sent you a PM. Thanks for you reply. It's cool to know that you were the guy I was riding with. You were the only guy to pass me all day so I was hoping you were an A rider. :) It was fun riding with you after you went by. You picked some great lines. Thanks for the ride!

Will they mail the results? I'm not even sure if they got my address. I'm not a member of either of the districts. If you get a mailing, please let me know as I'd like a copy.

I found out I got 3rd Sr B. First was a 72 and I was tied at 73 and lost it on tie breakers. I made so many time keeping errors that I really through it away myself. I didn't sync up my P3 with the course mileage early on and burned the first check by 2 minutes. First time I'd ever burned a check. Oh well, it was a LOT of fun.

It's interesting you say not much road. The enduro's we have up here in MN have almost no road sections and almost never any paved ones so this seemed like a whole lot of road miles to me. I liked it, though. Gave you time to rest and catch up a bit.
