Just changed my oil for the first time on my 426 and I noticed that one of the header bolts (left side if sitting on bike) is broken. I bought the bike used so I don't know how long its been that way. Is this a problem I should fix quick, or not a big deal? I tightened the other bolt good. I also noticed that when I started the engine, the exhaust (header) got red hot....I did this at night, so I guess it's normal to see it red, right? Thanks

The bolt on the left side is an allen bolt and is different than the bolt on the right side. If it is broken or missing you should replace it especially if the pipe is leaking at that point. You really dont want your engine sucking cold air in the exhaust port. Also, if it is sucking air, it will cause a popping or backfiring noise in your pipe.

A lot of the 426's glow red at the head pipe.

Just my $ .02

Check your valve clearences also if you haven't already.

When your valves are out of adjustment(especially exhaust) your header can get read hot and glow.
