Check your air filter and the likes first, could just be running a bit rich as the KDX is jetted to run rich anyway (made for enduro with longer spells on full throttle than an MX bike was the idea of the standard rich jetting). Wind the air screw in on your carb aswell then turn it out 1 and a half times as a starting point and work from there. What mix are you using with petrol/oil? I run mine at 40 to 1.
