As a result of being employed by my company for 6 years, they donate $1000 to the charitable organization of my choice. My company, Ipswitch... http://www.ipswitch.com, donates a significant portion of it's profits to many organizations and lets the employees have a say in the destination of much of it.

I have donated in the past to the Clayton Memorial Foundation but it seems that the RiderDown organization may be doing a lot these days, too.

Is RiderDown a 501c3 organization? I didn't see that mentioned on it's website. I'll also need the Federal Tax ID, contact person, mailing address, phone, fax, and website for whatever charitable organization I choose.

Rider Down is a noble cause! But if it does not end up being a 501c3, I would suggest the Blue Ribbon Coalition!

Yeah they've been coming up a little short.

I also favor LAF.

Another that I like is the Make A Wish Foundation
Sometimes they will allow you to help pick the wish.
+1  As a father of a child with a terminal disease we qualify as candidates to participate in MAWF, but have chosen not to.

I know of other parents challenged with the care of sick children who are less financially blessed than we have been...I have witnessed how Make A Wish has helped make some special memories for some deserving folks.

However you decide, I think it is pretty cool for you and your company to care enough to thoughtfully give.
Ken

P.S. Ivan's house of Porn...aka an endowment that comes up alittle short... Now that's funny! I don't care who you are! :rotfl:

May I suggest the Shriners?! Shriners hospitals work totally by donations and the families of the children served never pay for any part of their treatments or transportation. Shriners hospitals are located across the country.
Another thought, see if there is a charitable organization locally that serves the community that the employees live in. Putting money in local charities will allow you to monitor the results of your donations.

Yes Swifty but do we REALLY want Gomer riding around with a Fez? It might clash with his pink tutu. ;)

A tutu and a Fez? I think he would fit in just fine.
