My 99rm250 has a major clutch problem. It makes the bike kind of shudder. To take off I have to give a heap of throttle and let the clutch out quickly otherwise it shudders. The clutch only starts to engage at the end of the release.I have checked the clutch and found that a couple of the driven plates are out of true and need replacing but my suspicion is of the sleeve and needle roller bearing on which the outer basket spins, there is a bit of play in it.Has anyone had a similar problem and could the warpped driven plates or the needle roller be the problem. It's obviouse the plates would cause the clutch to drag(the plates are steel and the fibre plates are as new .Any help would be much appreciated .

sounds like you need a new driven plate, and a bearing on which the basket spins on, i never had this problem before u know last may dirtrider had a report on all motocross bikes and they're preoblems and what to watch out for, the 97-99 rm250's have bad clutch problems, they asre known to break plates, the clutch baskets can shatter, and the pressure plates can have major wear on them, i would say that you would have to buy a new pressure plate and bearing and maybe even plates
