Don't choose by brand. Buy the bike that you can get the best deal on, and be sure to consider dealer support in your decision. All the bikes will give you tons of enjoyment, and they all need some personalization to make them best suit you.
I have some experience and I am not worried about that. I would get a 2002 model, but I am also thinking about a KX100 since it is my first 2 stroke and i probably wont be too big on motorcross.
A KX 100 is an excellent bike. I suggest you go sit on one, and also sit on a 125. If the KX 100 is a better size for you, then by all means go for it. You won't be dissapointed.
I would recommend you get a 1980 PE175T. This will teach you an appreciation of how far bikes have come & stop us (I don’t believe I’m calling us old) folks from becoming jealous.
13 with a 2002 model -Sheesh!
Didn’t get my PE till I was 16,
& it was 2nd hand,
& I had to go halves with a friend to afford it.
I agree with spnaky make sure you will have a good dealer to deal with it makes all the difference in the world. As for brand its all up to you but you must realize that you will be making some personal changes to your future bike.
suspension, maybe bars (depends if you want a different bend), maybe a porting job by eric gorr... the suspension is a must to be personalized, if you dont have it done your bike could buck you off or sag really low.....
I have a kx 125 that rips. The yz has a nice engine and the kx has a good handling. they are both grate bikes. Get the one that you get the best deal on
