Help with old 9 digit vin

My son was givin an old 100cc Yamaha Enduro, the vin is only 9 digits long and I can't for the life of me find out how to identify this bike ... Help please !!! vin # 33A-040292 Thanks

Are you sure it's not 3A3?

According to the reference below, that would make it a 1981 DT100.

I have a DT 100... really wish I could get it running right. Love that bike.

One of my friend's had a 1980 model.

I thought it was pretty peppy for a 100cc dual sport.
