I'm installing a Vforce3 reed valve on my 03 KX250.
When looking at the back of the stock reed valve (like from the airbox), and the arrows are pointing up, the wider "wings" on the sides of the valve are on the bottom. This is shown as the correct orientation in the factory service manual.
There are no directional arrows on the Vforce. I called the tech guy at Moto Tassinari, and he just said the "writing should be on the top". When the valve is oriented this way, it is upside down from the stock setup (wider "wings" on the top). I got the feeling the tech guy just wanted to get off the phone with me, so I'm not sure I got 100% accurate info.
I could use some help if anyone out there has an 03 KX250 with a Vforce3 - please let me know which way your reed valve is installed.
Thanks!
