Hey! i have a question! what is the best cc size bike to begin with. I dont have a lot of experience with dirt bikes. i have only rode a couple of times. ITS FUN! so i have decided to buy one, but i dont know what size engine. I have been riding mtb like downhill for the past 5 years now so rough terrain and bumpy ride.. i know what it is. I was in a bike shop and they said i should go with a 250 four stroke. Apparently 125 2 stoke has an equal amount of power as a 250 4 stoke. Maybe because i am 6' 175lbs. So i dont know what to choose. If you could share some of your experience that would be great!!

cheers! jp.

Howdy! I am a newby here to! I just started riding myself and have about 24 hours of experience and I started out on a 98kx80 but within 2 hours found it was a baby bike and graduated to a 99kx 125 2 stroke and also have a 98cr125 2 stroke and enjoy the honda the best as it is light and easy to ride compared to the heavy kx125. I am now jumping with it and driving trails quite easy so I love it and also have rode a 07ktm550 4 stroke and loved the low end power compared to the high end 2 strokes so am hopefully this fall purchase a 4 stroke for trails as 2 strokes are for me a begginner on trails a pain as you need to go faster to keep them going properly. I just try all my friends bikes and see what each one is like and this is how I am going to determine which is better on brands ect and performance. I am 5'8 165 and a girl of 40 so don't know if this will help you any but just wanted to drop a line and say HELLLLOOO!!

Hey! Thanks for all of your responses! I think i am going to stick with a 250 2 stroke due to the financial situation rite now.
