I'm about to install a higher output lighting coil more for the mystery increase in performance than for lighting. A previous thread pointed out that only one filament is actually used for lighting and the other filament is not being used at all. It would be a cool mod to bridge the filaments together for double the lighting potential, but am afraid of melting the housing. Somebody out there must have tried a similar idea?

I think the bulbs are designed to be used as highbeam (both filiments) and low beam (just one filiment)... and the KDX doesn't have that option so only one is used..... it just so happens that when you flip it over, the other filiment works...

I think the bulb could handle it.... as for the harness, I'm not sure

I ran mine with both filaments lit for a while...

The housing suffered no ill effects but the stock coil did not like the extra load much
