I'm not sure yet. If I do I'll probably show up on Sunday morning.

How is the foot and bike?

My foot is sore, but when I tape it up its tolerable at least to walk around. we'll see how it feels racing :coocoo:

Re my bike: my parts have not come in yet, which is frustrating. I ll run my stock silencer, since we don't need a sparky. and stock seat, since The SDG tall seat base snapped off at the mounts and SDG is backordered for a new one. I ll have to live with the custom shaped plastics. It may not be the prettiest but at least I get to race :ride:

I'll be sleeping in my expo ot there Sat night. I won't leave here till after 7 to head out so I should arrive by 11 PM .

I'll be running the helmet cam Sunday, hopefully I 'll get some good footage like last year to share.

see you out there

Looks like I am out.. The bike is back together and running good but Angi is in Ohio this week, will be home next week while I am gone for 3 days, and then she leaves to go to Vegas for a trade show for two weeks..

When I mentioned a race during all that she gave me a funny look :yell: :( :| so I took that as a hint not to go.. You guys have fun.. After she gets back from Vegas things should calm down so I can race again..

Guys I'm sorry I'm flaking again but I'm out. I just can't get past 5 to 6 hours of driving for 1 hour of racing that'll cost me $70.

I'm considering a camping/playriding weekend instead.

Tim - you OK? What happened?

I got there late Sat night after an afternoon of 2 long baseball games w my boys and went right to bed. I was pretty tired in the AM, so I decided to skip the Team unclassified 8 AM race and just watched some of the sections.

The race kind of had a bad omen over it. My helmet cam wouldn't work, my parts didn't come in from my prospectors crash so I was riding my bike all nice and bent and my knee was still swollen and toe broken from that last crash.

The Race:
It was a dead engine start and the flag dropped. My YZ fired right up and off we went. It was a similar fun high speed and sandy course as last year. I was doing Ok, a few guys and me were passing back and forth (Big Fun) , then I had a wicked high speed swap and high side on a long sweeping sandy corner. I hit the ground hard , I couldn't breath and my ribs were killing me. I crawled off the track and laid down doubled over. The track worker who cleared my bike kept asked if I wanted the ambulance as he saw me hit. He clicked through the gears as he got my bike of the track and said 'you sure you don't want the medics you were in fourth gear and hit hard" . I said I think I'm OK. After a few minutes of sorting things out. I got up and went over to my even more twisted bike. Bent and twisted bars, deformend levers and handguards etc. I limped it back to the pits and loaded up to drive home.

At home, I iced my ribs which were very tender and sore. I laid down and sipped several of my favorte mexican painkillers while watching the tivo'd SX races.
I feel suprising good today. though I think i'll take a little time off to heal up. I told my wife I won't race again until at least next Sunday  :coocoo:

I dont know Tim, it seems your not getting your money worth. Prospectors, crash before the 1st check, now this. Get your part on and the body healed, dont make me post another Curious George picture. ;)

Tim - your race left just after I signed up. I was waiting for you to come around so I could take a pic. The only yellow bikes I saw were Suzuki's, so I started to get ready for my race, thinking you didn't make it out. You need to let yourself heal before the next race.

I woke up feeling damn healthy, so I thought I'd better strike while the irons were hot. My line left and within 1/2 lap I passed about 10 riders. I was going way faster than last year and was just barely hanging on. Then I got a little too cocky in a sandy, whooped corner (thinking I should keep some up major mo'.) and threw it away on the high side. Right idea, but bad technique. By the time I picked the bike up (heavy, when you've hammered your back) and got it started, those guys passed me and were long gone. I was about ready to throw in the towel when I got to thinking, "Those guys were kinda slow, maybe I can still catch them .... yeah, I gonna get them biatches".

So I went after them with a vengence and blistered both hands in the process (which I showed eveyone at work today, like badges of honor). I think I passed most of them back.

It was definately a battle of the slowest of slow at the back of the pack. I'd like to take this time to thank the other spodes for showing up and making it interesting.

As for the tire/log section, it was definately easier than the Glen Helen setup, as most of the +50 novices went through (but not me). This is a case where riding the unclassified would help by allowing the rider to check that stuff out beforehand. Too bad I missed the unclassified.

I know the results won't be great, but this is the best I've done in the past four years. I think I did the maximum amount of laps, because no one was lapping me until one rider got by just a few corners before the end of the race (front row?).

I don't like reading or writing novels, so I'll end here.
