SFO and I are getting married on Friday:)
We are taking our honeymoon in Baha.
We're going on the Trailboss Tour.
It starts in San Diego and ends in Cabo.
1200 Miles of riding; I can feel my backside already:o
They said we'll average 80 mph, and one day we'll go 270 miles and another day is completely riding on the beach. We have New Year's Day off in Loreto.
I'm so excited and I'm riding my KTM:
Has anyone on this board ridden thru Baha?
I feel an adventure awaits me...

Yes, Rodzilla and Doug did a big ride thru Baha either last year or the year before. I'll bug him tomorrow to post here. This sounds like a wonderful honeymoon; congradulations!!! (bbbom- So is riff raff under this ice the stuff that gives it the pretty blue color?)

Congratulations on the Baja honeymoon - you'll have a blast! Buy Desitin(sp) diaper rash ointment and use it from the 1st day onward as you will do a lot of sitting down. Layer up as it will probably be pretty cold in the mornings if you leave early and will then warm up during the day.

I've ridden in Baja 3 times - started in Hacienda St Veronica (Tecate) and gone to Canyon de Guadelupe, Mike's Sky Ranch & Rosarito. You will have a blast. I've driven all the way to La Paz when a buddy was racing a **** in the SCORE series - I wish I could have ridden the bike instead driven a chase truck and done pit support. I'd love to do some exploring down there via 4wd & motorcycle.

Congrats on the wedding & enjoy the riding - er, honeymoon:)

Congratulations, Fe! Sounds like the honeymoon was just an excuse to go out riding for a week! ;) I can't think of a better way to spend it, tho. :)

Sweet! I don't know what to congratulate you on, the wedding (dang another girl that rides off the market!) or on the trip.

I rode Baja with a wonderful woman named Kacey Smith, she is fast! and a heck of a lot of fun. She owns Lizard Lady publications http://www.bajagpsguide.com or e-mail her at [email protected]

She puts out a "do it yourself" guide to Baja using a GPS. It's great. Since you are using the tour you won't need it but if you go back by yourselves it works great! (and there are some pretty funny stories in it from yours truely!)

Yes Bring desitin, never ever turn down a chance to get water or gas. Make sure you have spare tubes (although the tour I'm sure maintains the bikes). Bring lots of film and spare lenses or tear offs it is DUSTY. Be prepared to take two showers (when you get a chance) to get all the dirt off!

Hope you like sand, on our trip we had never ridden it! :scream: :think :scream:

If you have a stack of old stickers in a bag somewhere bring them, when you ride through the small towns the kids love it!

Have fun! Rod

Do you have a link to the people hosting this ride? I was looking for something to do over the holiday season myself.

Cheers bake

Congratulations, I've ridden there a few times. The people are friendly. Most of the advice is good. Take a hydration system. Oh, try zip-tying a disposable camera to your chest protector, just wind and shoot. I've got a feeling your relationship is off to a good start. Couples that play together , stay together!! :D :D :D

Yes, you should have a ball! Going on supported Baja trips is the only way to go!

I've done two trips with Tim Morton and his BajaBound Adventures crew. They supplied the bikes, gear (if needed), two chase vehicles (one w/ a spare bike!), and schlepped our bags to the next hotel.

Had way too much fun - very professional, but fun, organization.
Am trying to figure out a way to get Susan to go on the next one. Oh she's ready! .. but at 5'2" the XRs are a bit big. We thought about taking down her BBR200 - but I hate to have it break/get stolen in the wilds of Mexico.

Here's the URL for Baja Bound - can't recommend them enough! Tell them RandyB from Portland sent you!

http://www.bajaboundmoto.com/bajaboundmain.html

If you check on the photos page - about 1/3 of the pictures are mine taken over two trips. For a dollar I'll tell you which one is me. (grin)

The following ride is the one that Susan and I want to go do!!

Cheers! - E-Ticket

* May 15 - 19 - SPECIAL "LADIES RIDE"! Due to the success of our 2001 "Hooters on Scooters" ride, we're doing it again! It will be a different loop this year which will include 4 hotel nights total, 2 of which are at great hotels on fantastic white sand beaches, and 4 days of riding. Jennifer (Tim's wife) will be along on the ride on her DRZ400 again, and like we said last time, couples and ladies solo are welcome, no guys solo. The ride will be led by Tim and we'll use our usual staff of workers so, Ladies, there's no need to worry about breaking down in the wilderness or having any trouble. All riders need to be of novice ability at the very least (the first day is going to be very long and very rocky!). This will for sure be a fun time for everyone!! Cost - $2050 with fully prepped Baja Bound XR or DRZ or $1145 with your bike. (it's the weekend after Mothers Day, the trip would make a great gift and would be a fun vacation for both of you!)

Hi to fe Princess, SFO and all interested parties....

I just spent the honeymoon with SFO and Princess - well, not exactly the honeymoon, but I did ride with them. Gotta admit, they spent a lot of time in their hotel room when we weren't on the trail... I have an incriminating photo of the princess having a whiz under the chase truck - but I will refrain from posting it here! princess rode her KTM hard to its untimely death, and then proceeded to wring my Honda's neck! (I had to bail out 65 miles from the finish due to cracked ribs :( so the princess got to ride a 4-stroke the last leg to Cabo)

princess - it was a pleasure spending the week with you and "Vernie" - all the best to you; I'll be us-mailing you the CD full of photos from the trip sometime next week - have to wait for Ron to send me over his set of photos.

In any case, the tour with Trailbosses Chris Steward and Nancy Emde was OUTSTANDING. What a blast!www.trailboss.com

Thanks Chris,

And nvr fnsh your stickies showed up after we left, but we took your advice and brought what we had.
The children loved seeing the women on dirtbikes.
Denise would hold court when she took her helmet off.
We also had a day where Denise and I rode side by side and it felt like water ballet.
The first day was around 150 miles and we were wooped.
Then they told us that this was the short day.
We rode 1400 miles total, with two days that were almost 300 miles.
We had a ball, and our tour took great care of us.
We plan on returning.
I think I will have to build Denise a fourstroke, as the 200 was a bit busy...
I see a serow motor in a yz125 chassis;)

I was afraid the mail would be a little slow - oh, well save them for next time.

Sounds like a great start to a happy marraige. Wish I could get my wife to try that kind of riding - sho's good for the easy 40 mile loops but that's about it. How did Denise like riding her 200 across the dry lake beds? I rode my KX500 down there one time and I thought I'd never see the end of Laguna Salada - my hands & butt were numb from the vibration. How'd your bike do? No problems?
