horsepower and torque,,new dirt rider article.

hey,, i just read an article in dirt rider (i think) that compared all the new 03 250 2strokes. yamaha yz 250 had to most hp down low, but does automatically mean it has the most and best low end torque for starts/slow speed hillclimbs?

Well yes and no. If all things are the same between the bikes, weight, all gearing and tire size then yes. HP is a product of torque and RPM. Then you have the torque curve wich may be steeperon another motor just above where they tested this Yamaha. Where did they measure the torque? It probably would be better down low but there are other factors that play into it...
