After having to rebuild my motor because of a failed piston skirt, I've decided to try and stay on top of my top end replacements.. I figure the only way to do this accurately is to count the time the bike is spent running, and an hour meter from a tractor would be perfect if it could be made to work..
Do they just take 12V in, and return some count?
How often would you recommend replacing the rings? How about the piston?
Thanks,
Jon!
For reference sakes, I put through over 20L of 2 stroke oil at 40:1 this summer alone.. I think I'll be into a few rebuilds per season.
