Play with the pilot screw a little, if it doesn't get better it's probably time for a rejet.

ok guys where is the pilot screw? is it next to the choke? sorry the one picture is so blurry, theres a screw next to the choke but theres no way to turn it with a screwdriver its this screw that sticks out and has a small hole on one side of it. and the other pic is upside down. i played with the idle screw and the screw next to that. it didnt do anything though.

Pilot screw is top right in second picture. Make 1/4 to 1/2 turn adjustments. In this case, probably out. I usually start by running it in until it bottoms out and counting the turns so I can return it to its original position if I'm not satisfied with the changes. Your pilot jet may also be plugged which would explain the sudden change.

In the future, try backing up a bit.. Those point & shoot cameras need about 3 feet between subject and lens to focus properly...

Hard to really see much in that shot.

on the xr it would lean out if you turn it out just like a two-stroke. MX and performance off-road 4-strokes with accelerator pumps have a fuel screw meaning by turning it out allows more fuel. it is the opposite.

when i turn it out, the bike doesnt idle anymore. I than increased the idle speed or rate or whatever and the bike idled fine but it still bogs and dies when i punch the throttle.

Well, if turning it out makes it worse, try turning it in. Make sure it's the right screw, the idle speed adjusting screw is in the middle of the carburetor and in the middle of the 2nd picture. The pilot air screw is in the upper right corner of the 2nd picture.

yeah, well i took off the bottom part which is the float bowl right? so i put the carb back to its stock settings, gave it a full tank of gas and the bike runs ok. the bog is still there when i punch it but not as bad.
