I am going to look at a 1991 RM250 Tonite to purchase. How do i make sure it is what he says it is? Is there a # on the engine that will tell me if its a 250 or 125? Or is there an easier way just by looking at it? If you can help me out I would really appreciate it! Thank You!

easiest way to tell is look at the pipe.......125 will come out of the head and do a right turn....250 will come out of head and make a left turn first then a right turn... ;)

The kickstart lever on a RM125 is short and stubby. It ends a few inches below the exhaust pipe. The 250 is much longer and actualy goes over the exhaust pipe by a couple of inches. For your own reference...look at some pics before you go. A good site is www(dot)bikepics(dot)com. Hope that helps and good luck with the bike.

If I recall correctly (my 02 says 249cc on the cylinder), while helping a friend rebuild an 89 RM125, the left side of the cylinder will say the cc's.
