I have a yz250 and after a ride in winter time i could put my hand on the cylinder and hold it there , but now in summer I can only hold it for a second because its really hot. Is it same with your bikes??
I ask this because I have take it for a ride today for the first time that is warm outside so I don't know if my bike is overheating!!
What temperature would be the limit and bike is not overheating??

If i were to touch my cylinder in the summer after 10 minutes of riding it would burn me. Same with the exhaust pipe. (KX250)

You should be fine.

its suppose to be really hot. theres alot of work going on in there. it will start steaming when it over heats. your bike is fine. just make sure there is always coolant in there!

No way you could palm the exhaust on my CR250 or YZ250 after 15 minutes of riding, winter or summer.

my rm 125 stays pretty cool for some reason. you can't hold your hand on the cylinder or pipe for to long but you can for a couple of seconds. it makes changing spark plugs alot easyer. on my buddies '95 rm125 it would get pretty toasty and my raptor 350 get real warm.

No, but if it is cold out you should let it warm up until the cylinder is warm to the touch before you really start running it hard.

If you don't warm it up good, you could cold seize it.
