hi there guys, how tight should i do up the bolts that hold the cyclinder on my 1999 kx125, i hav seemed to do one up reasonably tight and it stripped inside the engine cases, i will use a heli-coil insert to repair it, but am worried it will just strip again because its just soft crappy metal, do the base nuts need to be done up very tight, i dont want a torque wrench spec, i just want to know if they can be tightened firmly with just a spanner or socket,
cheers

yeah man you dont have to winch them rite up, i think its more about geting them "even" as in all exactly the same tightness rather then as tight as possible

the cylinder base bolts are not as tight as one might originally think. I use a box wrench and snug them. as was said before - make sure they are evenly tightened.

not to sound mean or anything...but the only real way to tighten cylinders up is by using the proper torque spec. this is actually very critical as it will prevent the gasket from warping and leaking in the future
