I have an o-ring chain on my bike and we were riding in some horrible gloppy trails this weekend. The problem is that some of the mud was clay type stuff and it is pretty lodged in there. How do I clean it out without damaging the o-rings? Thanks for any help! *Winter Rules*

I use superclean or simple green and a toothbrush to clean my chain after every ride. As soon as you're done with cleaning the bike and chain, just spray some o-ring safe chain lube on it and wipe off the excess. After a few washes the chain will be easier to clean. Good luck.

Someone in another thread had a good idea; put the chain in an antifreeze jug, pour in the cleaner (I think they used diesel fuel), and let it soak. Then take it out and wipe off and lube with whatever o-ring safe chain lube you prefer.
