How to remove dust caps on swingarm shaft??

I am busy greasing my KDX, the swing arm shaft has a dust cover on each side.
I do not want to damage these, have tried a flat screwdriver to pry them out, they seem pretty tight and would hate to tear them - any suggestions.

A flat blade screw driver works fine. Work it between the seal and the metal.

I used my fingers--just pinch and they'll come off

Thanks for the info', tried to pull them out with a pair of pliers, just have to man-up and get agro' with it all.
Will try it all - thanks again.
