how to ride trails of sand.

im going riding tomorrow,and the trails are made of a sand/dirt mix.this isnt that thick desert sand,just regular sand.im wondering whats the best way to ride in this so i dont wear myself out and have more control of the bike.the bike is a 96 kx500.

Don't fight the bike. Keep the front light and don't over correct. The bike will have a tendency to wander in the sand but you will get use to it.

I agree use lots of throttle, and I always shift my weight a little farther back on the bike.

Besides staying in the pipe another thing I have noticed is that if there are ruts. Move out away from them. I notice that the back end gets realy squily if it starts jumping from rut to rut.

On most rides I use the front brake a lot. Not on sand! Use the rear.

If you are jumping, land with the throttle on. Keep the front end light and keep the gas on.
