I recently purchased a '01 CR 250 that is in excellent shape and has really low hours on it. I would like to set it up to be able to race a HS every once in a while and still be able to practice on the local MX tracks. So far I have added Renthal bars, Cycra handguards, and a Steahly 12oz flywheel weight. I would like to have the suspension revalved so it handles the woods a little better and add some low end power. What would work to improve this bike? Thanks for any info and input! Heres a pic:
Have your suspension set up for GNCC racing.
For the engine try a set of Carbon Tech low tension reeds.
I like Pro Circuit pipes, but they don't make the PCII for yours.

I like to run a 120 size tire in the rear on a 19" rim in the woods, for the extra sidewall height.

How much would a Boyesen Rad Valve improve the bottom end and what suspension company do most woods people like to use? Thanks for the replies and keep'em coming.
I was using a Clarke 3.2 gallon tank when i was racing Harescrambles on my CR250. I rarely use it now because I mainly ride the CR on the track but you won't notice the extra size much if at all.
I had the Rad Valve on my 2000 for a while and I wasn't impressed. I am running stock reeds again.

Factory Connection does a great job with CR suspension for the woods. They used to do the valving for Kevin Hines when he was racing enduros and selling the CRE (endruo conversion) bikes.
My '99 has Factory Connection suspension front and rear (the forks are conventional 46 mm Paioli's and not stock) and it is sensational for woods/off road.
