We had an event at our place this weekend designed to have some Motorcycle Enthusiasts gather and do the things we like to do...ride motorcycles & BS..a lot.
Husqvarna USA decided to participate as well as a few dealers and folks within the business..was quite a good riding event.
BUT that didn't turn out to be the highlight of the weekend.
A fellow who was in an incedent on July 17th 2007 over in Afganistan turned out to be the main event....He was in Walter Reed still on an "IV "until friday when a Husqvarna enthusiast picked him up and drove him the 6-8 hours to CNY...(and back again on Sunday for more proceedures)
Heres a Picture of Joe's ride.....

Thats Joe on the Right with a "rescue" pad stopping bleeding from his smashed jaw and catotid artery that was clipped along with a broken thumb, Fibula, Ribs and skull.....he wasn't standing much longer after that pic. Only pride allowed that man to stand for that pic. Those eyes say it all. Adrenalin is a wonderful thing... understand they were also under fire for a while. Basically a "crappy day" for Joe in any measure of that phrase.
So JOE came up here for a little R&R and we figured we would help him relax a bit during what is going to be a rough transition back to a normal life...but we didn't know Joe very well. Turns out he turned the tables pretty quickly with his enless energy and absolutely hillarious wit and humor. He entertained us for this weekend. Amazing(ly) funny, Amazing Heart, and amazing character. He stole the show.
Thank God for those like Joe who are willing to risk it all for our way of life.
9-11 was only six years ago. Sometimes we forget.
