This question might me slightly different than others that have come up on the AV gas front.
I have run 100LL, but it has been some time and I never ran it for an entire piston life. For those that have run the 100LL, what color is the piston crown? and if you can expand on the answer for:
Jetted too rich / too cold
just right
lean
The reason I am asking is a buddy of mine runs it in his sea-doo, it does need the 100 octane, but these things drink too much to put in somthing like C-12, too spendy. His piston crown color is completly rust colored, and there is no noticable wash pattern near the xfer ports, from his set up, I believe he is too rich, but the crown dosent seem to say that. The head is washed clean, the pistons have no brown or black carbon build up, just a red oxide colored build up.
