I park at the corner of 4th and 54th streets. Then sneek my bike around the corner and take off from there. Just watch for the bums who like to sleep on the tracks. They leave nasty stains on the under sides of the fenders. ;)

A little more info is needed to answer this one.

OK,

Here's the deal sparky,

What State are we talking about?
What county?
What town?
section of said town?
Is it legal riding?

We'd love to help, but you aren't being too forthcoming with the details.

Since you said, "Water Gap", I'm going to assume that we are talking about either New Jersey, or Pennsylvania. If you are talking about an area that is within the National Park then this is the legal answer,"
SNOWMOBILES, ORV/ATV "off-road" vehicles, and PERSONAL WATER CRAFT ("jet-skis") are not permitted in the park.
If not, please, please give us more detail. We'll be glad to assist.
If it's not a legal riding area, please, please don't waste our time.

From what I've been able to gleen about the Paulinskill Valley Trail. It is a hiking/mountain bike trail system. I haven't seen a single word about it's use as an atv/offroad trail.

Theres no where to legally park there any more. We used to park at Wolfs corner in Green Twp untill some guy decided to let his 6 year old son ride his bike across the rode there and he got hit by a car. (yes he was ok after a short hospital stay) The state police patrol the rail bed on quads, and if you head in the other direction both Stanhope and Hopatcong police patrol it. In other words, its no longer a safe and legal place to ride. The only people I know who still ride there either live close enough to ride to the tracks, or know somebody who lives close.

heres some pictures from the area in question, but this section is fenced off now so you cant park there....
